The tough test of patience in the Wismar Bay

Image: AIA stiff, puffy sound echoes across the still sea, but the animal barely moves: Since this morning, the roughly twelve-meter-long humpback whale has once again been lying in shallow water. Authorities have established a 500-meter exclusion zone, rescue boats are circling at a respectful distance, while experts hope that the rising afternoon high tide will provide the necessary buoyancy. 

A stiff, puffy sound echoes across the still sea, but the animal barely moves: Since this morning, the approximately twelve-meter-long humpback whale has once again been lying in shallow water. The falling water level from last night is still preventing the whale from breaking free. Every minute without real propulsion weakens the marine mammal further – a nerve-wracking standstill for everyone involved.
