Skip to content A portion of Highway 29 near the Hartwell Dam is shut down due to a crash, according to deputies.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, along with Hart County Fire and Hart County EMS responded to a multiple-vehicle collision involving a transfer truck, boat, and other vehicles on Anderson Highway (Hwy 29) in front of the Corps of Engineers.

According to 511GA, as of 6 p.m., Hwy 29 remains closed to all traffic while emergency personnel work the scene and clear the roadway.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternate route. Authorities have not released details of the collision or the number of individuals who may be injured.
