On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Lyhanna’s body was found at an agricultural factory. She had been missing for six days. After intensive searches, the investigation focused on an agricultural silo in Puycasquier. The town is located a few kilometers from Fleurance, where the girl was last seen. The public prosecutor of Agen, Olivier Naboulet, indicated that the girl found was wearing “clothes similar to those” of Lyhanna, according to BFMTV.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, the public prosecutor’s office announced that the child’s body found the previous day was that of Lyhanna. “The victim’s identification has been confirmed through DNA comparison,” confirmed Olivier Naboulet. Forensic pathologists must continue their analysis to determine the circumstances of Lyhanna’s death. Reported for inappropriate behavior with minors and accused by a mother in 2025 of sexually assaulting her daughter, Jérôme B. was not subject to any legal proceedings. Despite an open investigation, he had not been questioned by law enforcement. Charged in connection with Lyhanna’s disappearance, he has been in pretrial detention since June 1, 2026. The Agen public prosecutor’s office has reclassified the judicial investigation as the kidnapping, unlawful confinement, and murder of a minor under 15 years of age.
