On Friday, June 5, 2026, a man shared with TF1 the detail that allowed him to alert the police during the search for Lyhanna. The man noticed birds flying above the silo where the little girl was found.
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Lyhanna’s body was found in an agricultural factory. The little girl had been missing for six days. After intensive searches, the investigation focused on an agricultural silo in Puycasquier. The town is located a few kilometers from Fleurance, where the girl was last seen. The public prosecutor of Agen, Olivier Naboulet, indicated that the girl found was wearing “clothing similar to that” of Lyhanna, according to BFMTV.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, the Agen prosecutor’s office announced that the child’s body found the previous day was that of Lyhanna . “The victim’s identification has been confirmed through DNA comparison ,” confirmed Olivier Naboulet. Forensic pathologists are continuing their analysis to determine the circumstances of Lyhanna’s death. Jérôme B., who had been reported for inappropriate behavior with minors and accused by a mother in 2025 of sexually assaulting her daughter , was not subject to any legal proceedings. Despite an ongoing investigation, he had not been questioned by law enforcement. Charged in connection with Lyhanna’s disappearance, he has been in pretrial detention since June 1, 2026. The Agen prosecutor’s office has reclassified the investigation as the kidnapping, unlawful confinement, and murder of a minor under 15 years of age .
What testimony led investigators to the agricultural silo?
It was a man who regularly hikes in Puycasquier who alerted the police . While the search for little Lyhanna was in full swing, he noticed birds hovering above the silo. This unusual behavior immediately alarmed him . “I thought it might be hunters who had abandoned some game. I went home, thought about it, and called the police,” he told TF1 on Friday, June 5, 2026. “A flock of birds seemed strange to me; they were just hovering . When I got back, I saw the same birds, and it seemed odd to me ,” he explained. It was after this call that the police focused their search on the silo.

Every year, retirees eagerly await announcements of pension increases. The 2026 increase is already confirmed, but the outlook for 2027 remains uncertain. Should we fear a “blank year,” as former Prime Minister François Bayrou once envisioned before his government fell?
Since his appointment in September 2026, the new head of government, Sébastien Lecornu, has been trying to regain control of a strained budget. He has already abandoned some unpopular measures, but remains silent on the issue of pensions. Seniors are therefore wondering: will their pensions actually be increased in 2026, or are they likely to be frozen?
November 2026: Revaluation of the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension
From November 1, 2026, nearly 14 million private-sector retirees will see their Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension increase.
The rise follows the inflation rate excluding tobacco published by INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), but with a 0.4 percentage point reduction to preserve the financial balance of the scheme. With inflation estimated at around 1%, the increase should be between 0.6% and 0.8%.
In concrete terms, a supplementary pension of €1,300 per month will increase by approximately €8 to €10, or between €95 and €125 per year. The first increased payment will be made on November 3, 2025. This increase is in addition to the one already applied in January 2025 to basic pensions (+2.2%).
2027: another uncertain year
Several scenarios are circulating for 2026. Under the Bayrou government, a “blank year” project was considered: no increase in basic pensions in order to save several billion euros.
