How to Clean Dirty White Sneakers

Step 1 — Remove the laces
Start by removing the shoelaces from both sneakers. Set them aside so you can clean them separately.

Step 2 — Prepare the cleaning mixture
Fill a large container with 1 litre of warm water. Add 2 tablespoons of washing powder and 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

Step 3 — Mix well
Stir the mixture thoroughly until the washing powder and baking soda are well distributed in the water.

Step 4 — Soak the sneakers
Place the dirty sneakers into the cleaning solution. Make sure the dirty areas are properly exposed to the mixture. Leave them to soak for about 20–30 minutes to help loosen the dirt.

Step 5 — Scrub the dirt away
After soaking, take a soft cleaning brush and gently scrub the sneakers. Pay extra attention to the soles, sides, toe area and other heavily stained areas. Don’t scrub too aggressively, especially around delicate materials.

Step 6 — Clean the shoelaces
While the sneakers are soaking, place the shoelaces in some of the cleaning solution. Rub them gently between your hands or scrub them lightly with the brush to remove the dirt.
