The Origins of the Lake
Before the lake existed, the area was largely unused land. During the rainy season, water would collect in low-lying sections of the terrain, creating temporary ponds and muddy ground. During dry periods, however, the same area became barren and dusty.
Village leaders and local authorities recognized that water management was becoming increasingly important. Seasonal droughts sometimes affected crops, while heavy rains occasionally caused flooding in nearby fields. To address these challenges, a proposal was made to construct an artificial lake that could serve multiple purposes.
The project required careful planning. Engineers surveyed the land, environmental specialists assessed potential impacts, and community members participated in discussions about how the lake could benefit everyone. After months of preparation, construction finally began.
Large excavation machines reshaped the landscape, creating a basin capable of holding millions of liters of water. Channels were designed to collect rainwater and runoff from surrounding areas. Once completed, the lake gradually filled, and what had once been an empty field became a sparkling expanse of water.
