On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Lyhanna’s body was found in an agricultural facility. The little girl had been missing for six days. After an intensive search, the investigation focused on a farm silo in Puycasquier, a town located a few kilometers from Fleurance, where the little girl had last been seen. Agen prosecutor Olivier Naboulet stated that the found little girl was wearing “clothes similar to those” of Lyhanna, according to BFMTV.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, the Agen prosecutor announced that the body of the little girl found the previous day was that of Lyhanna. “The victim’s identification was confirmed by DNA comparison,” Olivier Naboulet confirmed. Forensic doctors are continuing their investigations to determine the circumstances of Lyhanna’s death. Jérôme B., who had been reported for inappropriate behavior with minors and accused in 2025 by a mother of sexually abusing her daughter, had not been subjected to any legal proceedings. Despite the ongoing investigation, he had not been questioned by law enforcement. Charged in connection with Lyhanna’s disappearance, he has been in pre-trial detention since June 1, 2026. The Agen prosecutor’s office has reclassified the investigation as kidnapping, illegal detention, and murder of a child under 15.
