What are the risks for those who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine (1 / 2)

AstraZeneca  made an announcement that shocked the entire world: the recall of its COVID-19 vaccine from all countries. Furthermore, the European Commission confirmed that the vaccine, developed in collaboration with the University of Oxford, is no longer authorized for use. These decisions have fueled concerns about the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine, often questioned by serious adverse reactions.

At least officially, the  market withdrawal  is attributed to purely economic reasons. The company has specified that the reasons for this recall are that the vaccine is no longer competitive on the market, as it is now obsolete. This explanation, however, doesn’t entirely convince critics, especially in light of the latest legal issues involving AstraZeneca.

This decision follows a court case in which AstraZeneca was  sued  by more than 50 alleged victims and relatives, alleging serious injuries or deaths caused by a very rare side effect observed during the vaccine rollout. Overall, the case has been linked to at least 81 deaths in the UK alone, since December 2020.

It’s now been nearly three and a half years since the vaccine was first approved for use in the UK. While its crucial role in containing the vast number of hospitalizations and deaths from Covid-19 has been widely recognized, unanswered questions remain about why it also appears to have caused  so many deaths .
